Application of Leybold Vacuum Pump in Refrigeration Equipment
The structure and working principle of Leybold vacuum pump
The commonly used vacuum pump is the Leybold vacuum pump, which relies on the rotary vane to periodically change the working volume of the pump chamber (cylinder) to pump air. The structure of the Leybold vacuum pump is similar to that of a reciprocating piston compressor. When working, the suction pipe is connected to the vacuum container, and the exhaust pipe is directly connected to the atmosphere. Leybold vacuum pumps have a large pumping capacity, with a pumping rate ranging from 45 to 20000 cubic meters per hour. The ultimate pressure of a single-stage pump is about 103 Pa, and a two-stage pump can reach 1 Pa. Leybold vacuum pumps can be used for vacuum distillation, vacuum concentration, vacuum crystallization, vacuum filtration, vacuum drying and concrete vacuum operations. If a condenser is installed at the suction port of the pump, the gas containing steam can be removed; if a filter is installed, the dust-containing gas can be removed.
Reasons for failure of choosing Leybold vacuum pump in refrigeration equipment
- When the system is pressured and leak-tested, and it is confirmed that there is no air leakage, and the vacuum pump and the system pipeline are connected correctly, if the vacuum is found to be below the specified requirements, the vacuum pump must be checked for damage or quality problems.
- First check whether the amount of oil in the pump is below the standard line, whether the oil quality is dirty, saponified, or overflow is too low, so that the gas cannot be discharged smoothly.
- Check whether the metal mesh at the intake valve is blocked by dust or foreign matter, causing the suction circuit to be blocked or the efficiency to decrease.
- Check whether the drive belt of the motor is too loose or slippery, resulting in insufficient speed of the eccentric rotor.
- Check whether the pumping speed of the vacuum pump is suitable for the pumped system. If it is a “small horse-drawn cart”, the power is not enough.
After the above reasons are eliminated, the vacuum pump should be disassembled, and the seals, rotary vane springs, exhaust valves and other parts in the pump cavity should be checked. If damaged, they should be repaired or replaced.
First turn on the Leybold vacuum pump to run for about 0.5h to make the oil thinner, then stop the imported vacuum pump, drain the oil from the oil drain, and then open the suction port to run for 1 to 2 minutes. During this period, a small amount of clean oil can be slowly added from the suction port to replace the oil in the pump chamber.
