A tube furnace (Tube furnace) is a type of heating equipment used for applications such as high temperature processing, experiments and heat treatment. Its structure mainly consists of a heating tube, insulation, shell and control system.

A tube furnace works by generating heat by passing an electric current or fuel through the heating tube, which warms the tube and conducts the heat to the heated area, thus heating the sample or reagent to the desired temperature range.

The following are the general features and applications of tube furnaces:

Wide temperature range: Tube furnaces can provide a very high temperature range, usually ranging from tens of degrees Celsius to thousands of degrees Celsius, to meet different experimental and heating needs.

Precise control: Tube furnaces are usually equipped with a temperature control system, which enables precise temperature regulation and makes the experiment or heating process more controllable.

Uniform heating: Due to the special design of the heating tube, tube furnace can realize a more uniform heating distribution, to ensure the uniform heating of samples or reagents.

Multi-functional applications: Tube furnaces are widely used in laboratory research, high-temperature material processing, sintering, annealing, crystal growth, catalytic reactions and other fields.

It should be noted that since tube furnaces are generally used for high temperature and heating treatment, necessary safety measures need to be taken when using them, such as avoiding contact with the heated parts and preventing explosions. In addition, attention should be paid to reasonable control of temperature, time and sample requirements during use.

The combination of tube furnace and glovebox usually refers to the connection of a tube furnace to a gas-tight glovebox (Glovebox) in order to realize high-temperature treatments or experiments in an inert gas environment.

A glovebox is an enclosed workspace with gas-tight seals in which inert gases, such as nitrogen and argon, are used to create a water- and oxygen-free environment for handling sensitive materials, reagents, or samples. A tube furnace, on the other hand, provides the ability to heat at high temperatures.

By connecting the tube furnace to the glove box, high-temperature processing can be performed under the protection of inert gases to ensure the accuracy and safety of the process. The procedure is as follows:

Provide a gas-tight interface, usually a flange with a sealing device, between the tube furnace connection inside and outside the glove box.

Connect the tube furnace to the glove box via the gas-tight connection and ensure that the connection is gas-tight. This can be achieved using specially designed fittings or seals.

Add the sample or reagent to be treated to the tube furnace. Note that the sample needs to be pre-treated and encapsulated before entering the glove box to prevent outside oxygen and moisture from affecting it.

Using the operating gloves of the glove box, the tube furnace is started from inside the glove box via the control panel or operator interface to set the desired temperature and time.

The tube furnace begins to heat up and the sample is processed at high temperatures in an inert gas atmosphere.

By combining the tube furnace and glove box, high-temperature treatment can be carried out in an oxygen- and water-free environment, which is suitable for experiments and processes requiring high temperatures and inert gas protection, such as sintering, annealing, and crystal growth.
